THE FUTURE OF METAL BUILDINGS STARTS HERE
Meet the next generation of designers redefining what’s possible with metal. The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) recently announced the winners of its annual student design competition spotlighting innovative concepts for campus recreation centers. Open to undergraduate and graduate architecture students nationwide, the contest challenged participants to reimagine modern campus buildings using metal as the primary material. MBMA awarded more than $30,000 in prizes to eight standout students and their faculty sponsors for their visionary work. “This was the fourth year of the competition and the largest ever, with a total of 49 entries from schools across North America. We are excited to see the design competition grow and introduce metal building systems to students across the country and beyond,” says Lee Shoemaker, PhD, PE, MBMA Director of Research and Engineering. As a proud association partner of METALCON, MBMA will be on hand in Las Vegas this October to showcase how metal continues to shape the future of design and construction.
