The Importance of Rainscreens

Rainscreens provide a vital role in managing moisture and provide exceptional opportunities for energy-efficient performance the the construction of a building. Andrew will explain how rainscreens are not simply a product; but an assembly comprised of building components installed by different trades. But when the different trades use different terminology, how do we come to a common language? This session explains the various components of a rainscreen assembly, the functions the rainscreen provides, as well as how to actively and effectively communicate the “rainscreen language” throughout the construction and design industry.

Who is RAiNA?

RAiNA, the Rainscreen Association in North America, was created to work together with their membership, industry, and trade to be the recognized authority on rainscreen wall assemblies in North America. They have spent two years decoding the rainscreen language and developing terms and definitions for components and functions used in the rainscreen industry.
