Airing Today at 1PM EST, join industry experts Robert “Bobby” Mesmer, Founder and CEO of RMG Erectors, and Heidi Ellsworth, Partner and President of RoofersCoffeeShop, for “The State of the Metal Building Erecting Industry.” This dynamic duo will cover how metal erecting is not only growing but creating waves within the architectural and specifying communities.

The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announced its 2024 Building of the Year winners at the 55th Annual MBCEA Conference in San Diego. The overall winner is the Truck Center Company sales and service center in Mankato, Minn., completed by APX Construction Group and Metallic Building Co. of Houston, part of Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc., as the metal building systems provider. It includes a total of seven buildings erected together to create an all-in-one complex with a standing seam metal roof and insulated metal panels (IMPs) on walls. MBCEA saw 31 companies enter a total of 40 projects for consideration, the highest since they started the award program. Additional awards were presented in the commercial, community, manufacturing and warehousing and agriculture categories. Congratulations to all of the winners.

The Metal Construction Association (MCA) announced that five outstanding students affiliated with MCA member companies have been selected as the first recipients of the association’s inaugural scholarship program. Atlanta’s arts and culture scene is one of the most vibrant in the U.S. The Woodruff Arts Center, the country’s third-largest arts campus – comprised of High Museum of Art, Alliance Theater and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra – draws more than 800,000 visitors annually. Atlanta’s arts scene spreads well beyond the city’s world-class venues as a new wave of visual art installations and street murals have rolled in, adorning parks, walls, tunnels and walkways with color and jumpstarting Atlanta’s independent artist’s scene. The city’s roots also dig deep into its cultural past with historic events including Civil War battles, the birth of the civil rights movement and the Centennial Olympic Games.
