Metal Roof Installation Training: Part 1 – Certificate Course

DESIGNATED MEETING ROOM: S224

Unlock the potential of your career in metal roofing! In Part one of this two-day, eight-hour introductory certificate program based on MCA’s Metal Roof Installation Manual, participants will learn from industry experts and get classroom training on topics from substrates, safety, sealants, flashings, panel types and connections, tools, fasteners, maintenance, and more. Upon successful completion of this two-day training program, individuals who prove themselves to be qualified will receive MCA’s Metal Roofing Certificate of Completion. Registrants can then see examples of what they learned in the METALCON Exhibit Hall and further educate themselves on the metal systems, and network with industry experts. This also gives manufacturers access to a pool of individuals trained in proper methods of metal roof installation. For those new to metal roofing, this program presents a great opportunity to learn about the industry, while experiencing practical training.

Learning Objectives:

  • Master the basics of substrates, safety, roofing sealants and more.
  • Learn how to implement safety systems for your roofing installers.
  • Explore common pitfalls and the safety issues to address as soon as they are discovered.
  • Learn which sealants are ideal for specific environments and usages.
  • Discover the optimal metals for various environmental situations.

This workshop is located in meeting room S224 and requires pre-registration, an additional fee.

About the MCA:
The Metal Construction Association is an organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose metal products are used in structures throughout the world. Since it was formed in 1983, MCA has focused on one key strategy – to promote the use of metal in the building envelope through marketing, education, and action on public policies that affect metal’s use. MCA’s marketing and technical activities create awareness of metal, its applications, and its benefits. MCA also works to eliminate barriers to metal’s use in construction by supporting product performance testing, initiating research, and monitoring and responding to codes and regulations that affect metal. These well-established activities help educate building owners, designers, installers, educators and those who determine relevant codes and standards. The result – more metal products are chosen for a broader scope of projects.
