LEED v5: Revisions that Affect Metal Construction

MCA Technical Consultant Bob Zabcik discusses recent revisions to the LEED Program. Designed to accelerate the market toward a near-zero carbon and ultra-low impact-built environment, LEED v5 focuses on three areas: decarbonization, quality of life and ecological conservation and restoration. Bob will touch on each of these areas with an emphasis on metal and share how LEED v5 provides greater flexibility and opportunity to modify rating systems in response to rapidly changing market circumstances.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how LEED v5 differs from previous LEED revisions.
  • Discover how LEED v5 focuses on decarbonization, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration.
  • Find out how metal components and whole metal buildings can benefit a structure for LEED ratings.
  • Understand what the changing market means for building ratings and accreditations.
