MCN CONTRACTOR SURVEY: WHAT LAST YEAR REVEALED — AND WHY YOUR VOICE MATTERS NOW
Published in March 2025, Metal Construction News’ 44th Annual Contractor Survey offered an early look at an industry adjusting to higher material costs, labor constraints, and trade uncertainty. By year’s end, many of those signals proved accurate. Results pointed to a more measured outlook, with contractors moderating expectations rather than anticipating sharp declines. As we look back, the survey also revealed a broadening mix of work, as metal builders diversified beyond commercial construction into agriculture, industrial, residential, and transportation projects. Tracked year over year, these shifts provide valuable insight into how contractors are adapting to market pressures, where opportunity is emerging, and how regional and business-size dynamics continue to evolve across the industry.

Now, MCN is collecting responses for its 45th Annual Contractor Survey. Your confidential input will help determine whether stabilization is taking hold or new challenges are emerging. Results will appear in the March 2026 issue of Metal Construction News.

All entries are due by Sunday, January 25.

WHY ORLANDO DELIVERS FOR METALCON 2026
For the first time in its history, METALCON is bringing its energy, innovation, and expertise to Orlando — a city built to host some of the nation’s largest and most complex trade shows. For 10 years, Orlando has been named the No. 1 meetings destination in the U.S. by Cvent, thanks to its world-class infrastructure, extensive hotel inventory, and seamless transportation network — all designed to handle thousands of attendees with ease. As METALCON prepares for its first Orlando edition, the move is more than a change of scenery — it’s a strategic choice rooted in the city’s proven ability to host high-impact events. For attendees, that means smoother travel, convenient accommodations, and a show environment built for education, innovation, and connection.
