Thea Dudley is a credit management specialist in the building material and construction industry. She started working with her subcontractor Dad, and shortly thereafter realized that manual labor was not for her. So, she moved into the power seat of the business — granting credit and collecting the money. Thea has spent her career of over 35+ years working across the credit departments of manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, contractors, and subcontractors, leading credit teams, aiding accounts payable, and bringing order to cash processes to improve the cash flow of both the company and the customer. Having held Vice President of Finance roles at two major industry players, she has trained and managed credit managers, sales reps, and even company presidents to think of the credit function in a profit-generating light. She is a founding member of Women of LBM, Levelset Pro Advisory Panel and National Insulation Contractors Exchange. She writes a credit Q&A Column and Webex series for LBM Journal.
