AC472 and AC478 Accreditations for Improving Quality and Success in Metal Building Design and Construction

This session will provide an overview of two accreditation programs that are chosen to improve the quality of work in the metal building industry. IAS accreditation attests that an organization has been assessed by a third-party accreditation body to rigorous standards to ensure their quality and make it easier for regulators to approve the companies that are designing, fabricating and assembling metal building systems. Specifically addressing questions from designers and specifiers, representatives from the International Accreditation Service (IAS), Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) and Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) will present and answer questions about the Metal Building Systems Inspection Accreditation AC472 and Metal Building Assemblers Inspection Accreditation AC478.

Learning Objectives:

  • Why accreditation should matter to designers, architects, and engineers.
  • Standards that make up these accreditations.
  • Regulation within the metal fabrication and assembling industry and how these regulations can affect the industry as a whole.
  • Quality and it’s importance within the industry.
  • How these accreditations can positively affect your clients in the future.
