Robin Anderson
Technical and Strategy Development Manager, Westlake
Robin has been in the metal roofing industry since 1986, when as a third-generation metal worker, he started in custom manufacturing, pushing the assist side of a ten-foot Chicago brake with his grandfather. Through years of hard work and learning, Robin graduated into managing installation crews, estimating and eventually ownership of the company that his grandfather had started in 1949. Working with different manufacturers of metal roofing provided learning opportunities of manufacturing, codes, and standards, as well as installing manual writing and product testing. Later joining Gerard Roofing Technologies as Installation Trainer, Robin was hired to educate existing and new contractors in the benefits of using and the techniques of installing stone coated steel roofing. Through many mergers and acquisitions, Robin is now the Technical Services Manager for Unified Steel / Westlake, a manufacturer of stone-coated steel roofing. Robin is responsible for code compliance, new product testing and product development, as well as working with the Training, Quality Control, Marketing, Claims, Engineering and Sales Departments to help provide a “real world” experience for bettering customer relations with architects, engineers, contractors, installers, and homeowners.
