Lee Shoemaker has been the Director of Research and Engineering at the Metal Building Manufacturers Association since 1994. A lifelong engineer, Lee earned his BS in Engineering and his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Duke University. After working as a Structural Engineer at Avondale Shipyards in New Orleans, Lee became an assistant professor at Auburn University. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses in structural analysis and design in the Civil Engineering Department and associated research activities for six years before joining Cornell Crane Manufacturing as Vice President of Engineering.
