Residential Roof Council

 

MCA’s Residential Roof Council will provide insight on detailing of various styles of metal roof shingles and panels.  Come and see the latest technologies in both painted and stone coated shingle and tile profiles as well as traditional vertical seam roof panels.  Basic details such as eave flashing, gables, ridge, valleys and roof penetrations will be demonstrated to insure the audience understands requirements for a successful metal roof installation.  In addition to basic detailing topics such as underlayments, proper tools and fasteners and the latest in energy efficient technologies will be reviewed.

Commercial Roof Council

 

MCA’s Commercial Roof Council will combine the latest in re-roofing technologies and address traditional standing seam and natural metal detailing.  Re-roofing topics such as proper technique and design/engineering of a flat roof to new sloped metal roof and metal over existing sloped metal roof will be shown.  These re-roofing presentations will also address integration of new energy efficient technologies such as cool roofing, above sheathing ventilation and photovoltaic systems.  Participants will also compare detailing used for traditional standing seam systems when utilizing prepainted metals and natural metals such as copper and zinc.  Related topics such as the latest trends in fastener and tool technology as well as selection of proper snow retention devices will be shown.

Commercial Wall Panel Council

 

MCA’s Commercial Wall Panel will present the latest technologies in wall panel designs and systems.  Products such as Metal Composite Materials, Insulated Metal Panels, Single Skin Panels and Sun shading Systems will be shown during the demonstration.  Rain screen principles and waterproofing techniques will be explained.  The latest trends in new construction and renovation as well as energy efficient technologies will be learned by the audience.

Learn about the proper tools use, installation tips, or ask one of the product specialists about your metal roofing installation problem and they will be happy to provide a solution. Trends and applications in fastener technologies will also be explained and demonstrated.

 

Overall

 

New for the demonstration area during METALCON 2010 will be an increased number of participants and more detailed conditions available for viewing.  In addition to a one-hour full demonstration of each of the three areas per day, the demonstration areas and one-on-one discussion with council members will be available to attendees during the entire show.  This will allow for and “up close and personal” viewing of the details used for installation of metal panels in both roof and wall applications.
